Welcome Welcome to the Supporters of Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park website. Our goal is to share information about activities that promote the area's ecological integrity. For specific information about Kawartha Highlands Signature Site Provincial Park, go to the government's official website at www.ontarioslivinglegacy.com In 2003 legislation was passed designating the Kawartha Highlands Signature Site an operating provincial park. This followed the unanimous recommendation of the government-appointed Local Stakeholder Committee and the endorsement of a park designation by naturalist groups and associations of local cottage-owners. As a provincial park, the area has been given protection from sales of crown land, over-development and new commercial activities. All of us who are users of the area have become stewards to ensure it is preserved for future generations.
